#12689: Data Logger Shield for Arduino

R113.40

The data logger shield is a convenient and feature-rich expansion board that can be used with Arduino Uno, Leonardo, or Mega boards to enable easy data logging to an SD card. It comes with various useful features to simplify data logging projects and is compatible with standard Arduino libraries and example code for quick setup.

Key Features:

  1. Real-Time Clock Module: The shield includes a DS1307 battery-backed real-time clock (RTC) that ensures accurate timekeeping for extended periods, even when the shield is not powered. This feature allows precise timestamping of sensor data during logging.

  2. SD Card Reader: The shield comes equipped with a standard SD card reader that supports SD cards formatted with FAT16 or FAT32 file systems, up to 32GB in size. It facilitates easy reading and writing of data to the SD card and is compatible with the standard SD card library.

  3. Prototyping Area: The shield offers a prototyping area with a grid of pads on a standard 0.1" pitch, providing users the flexibility to add their own components, such as sensors or additional circuitry, to interface with the Arduino board.

  4. LED Indicators: Two additional LEDs (L1 & L2) are included on the shield, and they can be mapped to any of the Arduino's digital pins for use as visual indicators, providing useful feedback during data logging operations.

  5. Standard Arduino Headers: The data logger shield comes with standard Arduino headers, allowing it to be easily stacked on top of other compatible shields, enabling a seamless integration of multiple functionalities.

  6. Onboard 3.3V Regulator: The shield features an onboard 3.3V regulator, which serves as a reliable reference voltage for various components and ensures that power-hungry SD cards operate efficiently without issues.

The data logger shield is well-suited for a wide range of applications, including data logging, environmental monitoring, and other projects that require recording and storing sensor data. Its ease of use, real-time clock capability, and compatibility with different Arduino boards make it a valuable tool for hobbyists, students, and professionals working on data-driven projects.
