A speed sensor, also known as a tachometer sensor, is a device that is used to measure the rotational speed of a machine or engine. It typically consists of a rotor with a series of slots or holes around its circumference, and a sensor that is positioned adjacent to the rotor. As the rotor rotates, the sensor detects the passing slots or holes and generates a pulse signal. The frequency of the pulse signal is proportional to the speed of the rotor. A slot-type optocoupler is a type of sensor that uses an optical coupling mechanism to isolate the sensor from the rotor. It is often used in high-speed or harsh environments where electrical noise or interference is a concern.
Use this module as either a speed sensor or a tacho-counter.
Widely used in motor speed detection, pulse counting, position limit and so on.Module features:1, the use of imported groove coupler sensor, slot width 5mm.2, output status indicator lamp output high, output low lights.3, block, output high; no shelter, output low.4, the comparator output signal clean, good waveform, driving ability, than 15mA.5, the working voltage of 3.3V-5V6, the output format: digital switching output (0 and 1)7, a fixed bolt holes for easy installation8, small PCB board size: 3.2cm x 1.4cm9, using a wide voltage comparator LM393
Slot Width: 5mm
Working Voltage of 3.3V-5V
Usage:1. module slot unobstructed, receiver tube conduction module DO output low, when blocked, DO output high;2, DO output interface can be directly connected to the microcontroller IO port, whether the sensor with barriers, such as the motor speed can be detected with the motor encoder.2. DO module can be connected to relays, limit switches and other functional composition, and to be connected with active buzzer module, consisting of alarm.
Product wiring instructions:1, VCC positive power supply 3.3-5V2, GND power supply is negative3, DO TTL switching signal output
