ATmega2560-16AU is a microcontroller (MCU) integrated circuit (IC) that is part of the ATmega2560 family of MCUs. It is made by Atmel, a company that was acquired by Microchip Technology Inc. in 2016.

The ATmega2560-16AU is based on the AVR architecture, which is a RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computing) architecture designed for high performance and low power consumption. It has a 16-bit RISC processor core, which means that it can execute instructions 16 bits at a time. The -16AU version of the ATmega2560 has 256 kilobytes (KB) of flash memory, 8 KB of SRAM (Static Random Access Memory), and 4 KB of EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory).

The ATmega2560-16AU is a versatile MCU that can be used in a wide range of applications, including automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics. It has a large number of input/output (I/O) pins, multiple timers, and a built-in analog-to-digital converter (ADC), which makes it suitable for a variety of tasks. It can also be programmed using a variety of different programming languages, such as C, C++, and assembly.
