#522: MQ-7 Carbon Monoxide (CO) Gas Sensor Module
R56.00
The MQ-7 is a carbon monoxide (CO) gas sensor module that can be used to detect the presence of CO gas in the air. The module uses a metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) to detect CO gas, which is a toxic gas that is produced by the incomplete burning of fossil fuels. The MQ-7 can be used in a variety of applications, including in home security systems, gas leak detectors, and portable gas detectors. The module has a simple analog output that can be read by a microcontroller or other control system, and it can operate over a wide range of temperatures and humidity levels. The sensitivity of the MQ-7 can be adjusted by changing the resistance of a potentiometer on the module.
Use the MQ7 module with your Arduino to easily detect Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that is slightly less dense than air. It is toxic to hemoglobic animals (both invertebrate and vertebrate, including humans) when encountered in concentrations above about 35 ppm, although it is also produced in normal animal metabolism in low quantities, and is thought to have some normal biological functions. In the atmosphere, it is spatially variable and short lived, having a role in the formation of ground-level ozone.
